How we work
Clarity
You should understand your options, risks and next steps.
Integrity
Every application and representation must be truthful and supportable.
Preparation
Careful details and consistent evidence make a meaningful difference.
Your language
We serve clients in English and in Persian.
No representative can promise an outcome. Decisions belong to IRCC, the provinces and the other authorities. What we can do is help you choose the route that fits your facts and file an application that is complete, consistent and honest.
What an immigration representative can do
According to IRCC, an authorized representative can explain your options and advise you on them, help you choose an immigration program, fill out and submit your application, communicate with the Government of Canada for you, and represent you in an application or a hearing.
Using a representative is your choice. IRCC states that hiring one does not draw special attention to your application or make approval more likely, and that the forms and instructions are free, so you may apply yourself. You must give written consent before IRCC shares your personal information with anyone or gives anyone access to your application.
To see the routes we write about, start with all programs and services.
Check any representative before you hire
- Ask for the licence or membership numberAn authorized consultant has a CICC registration number. Lawyers, notaries and Ontario paralegals have a law society number.
- Look the person up on the official registerIRCC says consultants must be members of the CICC; lawyers and notaries must belong to a Canadian law society or the Chambre des notaires du Québec; and paralegals (Ontario only) must belong to the Law Society of Ontario.
- Confirm they are in good standingThe registers show a licensee's current status; the CICC register, for example, shows an eligibility line and any revocations, suspensions or restrictions. IRCC advises that if a representative is not a member in good standing, you should not use their services.
- Know where to complainThe CICC accepts complaints about the conduct or competence of an RCIC through its online complaints process.
