This tool estimates your score on the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) selection grid: language (up to 28 points), education (25), skilled work experience (15), age (12), arranged employment (10) and adaptability (10). The points come from IRCC's FSWP page, last modified October 16, 2026, and IRCC's education points table, both opened on October 18, 2026. The pass mark is 67 out of 100. This is not your CRS score: candidates who qualify are ranked separately under the Comprehensive Ranking System.

How the 67 points are calculated
IRCC adds up six selection factors. The tables below are the same ones the calculator uses.
Language: up to 28 points
First official language: up to 24 points, scored separately for speaking, listening, reading and writing. Second official language: 4 points if you reach at least CLB/NCLC 5 in all four abilities.
| Level in each ability | Points per ability |
|---|---|
| CLB 9 or higher | 6 |
| CLB 8 | 5 |
| CLB 7 | 4 |
| Below CLB 7 | Not eligible |
Education: up to 25 points
Points depend on the Canadian credential, or on the result of the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for a foreign credential. To get full points for more than one credential, at least one of them must be of three years or longer.
| Education | Points |
|---|---|
| Less than secondary school | 0 |
| Secondary school diploma | 5 |
| One-year post-secondary credential | 15 |
| Two-year post-secondary credential | 19 |
| Credential of three years or longer (for example a bachelor's degree) | 21 |
| Two or more credentials, at least one of three years or longer | 22 |
| Master's degree or entry-to-practice professional degree | 23 |
| Doctoral degree (PhD) | 25 |
Skilled work experience: up to 15 points
The experience counts if it is paid, in TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3, and gained in Canada or abroad, including while studying, as IRCC's page describes.
| Skilled work experience | Points |
|---|---|
| 1 year | 9 |
| 2–3 years | 11 |
| 4–5 years | 13 |
| 6 years or more | 15 |
Age: up to 12 points
| Age on the day IRCC receives the application | Points |
|---|---|
| Under 18 | 0 |
| 18 to 35 | 12 |
| 36 | 11 |
| 37 | 10 |
| 38 | 9 |
| 39 | 8 |
| 40 | 7 |
| 41 | 6 |
| 42 | 5 |
| 43 | 4 |
| 44 | 3 |
| 45 | 2 |
| 46 | 1 |
| 47 or older | 0 |
Arranged employment: 10 points
A valid job offer of at least one year from a Canadian employer, in a TEER 0–3 occupation, for continuous, paid, full-time (30 hours or more per week), non-seasonal work. The offer must also meet one of the situations IRCC lists. It gives 10 points here and, separately, 5 adaptability points.
Adaptability: up to 10 points combined
| Element | Points |
|---|---|
| Spouse or partner has CLB/NCLC 4 or higher in all four abilities | 5 |
| Your full-time study in Canada (at least 2 academic years) | 5 |
| Spouse or partner's full-time study in Canada (at least 2 academic years) | 5 |
| Your full-time work in Canada (at least 1 year, TEER 0–3, authorized) | 10 |
| Spouse or partner's full-time work in Canada (at least 1 year, authorized) | 5 |
| Arranged employment (you earned the 10 job-offer points) | 5 |
| Relative in Canada (18 or older, citizen or permanent resident) | 5 |
Minimum requirements before the grid
Scoring 67 points is only one step. IRCC checks the minimum requirements first, and you must meet all of them.
Skilled work experience
At least 1 year of continuous paid work, or 1,560 hours in total, in TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3, gained in the last 10 years. It must match one NOC (your primary occupation) in its lead statement and most main duties. Volunteer work and unpaid internships do not count.
Language
An approved English or French test with at least CLB/NCLC 7 in all four abilities of the first official language.
Education
A Canadian secondary or post-secondary credential, or a completed foreign credential with an ECA done for immigration purposes.
Proof of funds, admissibility, where you live
Proof of funds is required unless you can legally work in Canada and have a valid job offer. You must be admissible and plan to live outside Quebec.
Arranged employment and the November 3, 2026 change
On October 18, 2026, IRCC's FSWP page still describes four situations for a valid job offer, each tied to a work permit, a labour market impact assessment (LMIA) or an LMIA exemption. IRCC's page on the 2026 changes says that as of November 3, 2026 an LMIA is not needed for a job offer to qualify for program eligibility or CRS points, and that an officer will assess whether the offer is genuine. This is announced, not yet in force. The calculator therefore asks only whether you have an offer that meets IRCC's rules, and you should check IRCC's page again after November 3.
