PEI issues 90 Labour and Express Entry invitations
Prince Edward Island held a provincial selection on October 7, 2026 and issued 90 invitations in its Labour and Express Entry category. The official result shows no invitations in the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur category.
PEI does not publish a minimum score for these invitations. An invitation allows the selected candidate to apply to the province. It is not a nomination or an approval of permanent residence.
Ontario adds a 10-point top earnings tier
Under the Ontario Workforce Priority stream, the Canadian work experience factor awards points for earnings history. Ontario's 2026 updates page says that, since October 5, 2026, a registrant who earned $80,000 or more in a single year within the past five years receives 10 points, and that existing expressions of interest were updated automatically. The stream's scoring page shows the full grid:
| Earnings in a year | Points |
|---|---|
| $80,000 or more | 10 |
| $70,000 to $79,999 | 8 |
| $50,000 to $69,999 | 6 |
| $30,000 to $49,999 | 4 |
| Less than $30,000 | 0 |
What Ontario applicants should check
The earnings are based on a Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency issued in the last five years. This documented annual income is separate from the hourly wage in a job offer.
This is a change to Ontario's Expression of Interest scoring, not a new invitation round. Candidates must still meet the stream's eligibility rules and receive an invitation before they can submit a provincial nomination application.
