Estimate your expression of interest (EOI) score for the Ontario Workforce Priority (OWP) stream, the only open stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) since the 2026 redesign. The points come from the scoring tables on Ontario's OWP page (last updated October 6, 2026), checked on October 18, 2026. They include the 10 points for annual Canadian earnings of $80,000 or more, added on October 7, 2026. The maximum is 132 points with a job offer and 117 for eligible self-employed physicians.
How the score is calculated
The OWP grid has four groups of factors. Ontario fills the TEER category, the broad occupational category and, for job offers, the wage from the approved job offer or from the physician's registration, so these answers must match those records.
| Group | Job offer | Self-employed physician |
|---|---|---|
| Employment and labour market | 72 | 57 |
| Education | 20 | 20 |
| Language | 25 | 25 |
| Regionalization | 15 | 15 |
| Maximum total | 132 | 117 |
- Experience. Job-offer applicants score full-time experience in the job-offer position (up to 18 points). With less than 6 months in the position, an alternate table scores full-time or part-time-equivalent work in Ontario (up to 12 points). Physicians score cumulative medical practice in Ontario (up to 18 points).
- Canadian earnings. One year of earnings shown on a Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment issued in the last 5 years: $80,000 or more earns 10 points. Ontario applied this change to existing EOIs automatically.
- Language. Up to 15 points for the lowest of your four abilities in one official language, plus 10 points for two official languages each at CLB 6 or higher, or 5 points for one.
- Regionalization. Up to 15 points by the work location in the job offer: Northern Ontario 15, Eastern, Central outside the GTA and Southwestern Ontario 10, the rest of the GTA 5, Toronto 0.
What changed in 2026
- On June 25, 2026, amendments to Ontario Regulation 422/17 came into force. Ontario removed the eight former OINP streams and introduced Ontario Workforce Priority. Ontario says all other streams are now closed.
- The OWP EOI portal opened on August 4, 2026, for job offers in all TEER categories and for self-employed physicians.
- On October 7, 2026, the Canadian earnings factor changed: $80,000 or more in a single year within the past 5 years now earns 10 points.
- Ontario's main OINP page says more changes are coming soon but gives no details. Check the official pages before you rely on any score.
What the estimate does not tell you
Every point you claim must be supported by documents when you apply. The employer must be registered, the position must be approved, and you must meet the work experience, language, education and legal status criteria for your TEER category. After you submit the job offer, you register your EOI within 30 calendar days. If you are invited, the employer applies within 14 calendar days, and you apply and pay within 17 calendar days of the invitation, after the employer's application is submitted.
