Estimate your score on Manitoba's 100-point Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO) eligibility assessment. The points come from the SWO eligibility grid on immigratemanitoba.com, checked on October 19, 2026. This is a different grid from the 1,000-point Expression of Interest (EOI) ranking score; for that, use the EOI ranking calculator.
How the score is calculated
Manitoba assesses Skilled Worker Overseas candidates on a 100-point grid with five factors. You need at least 60 points and an established Manitoba connection.
| Factor | Maximum | How it is scored here |
|---|---|---|
| Language | 25 | First official language: 20, 18, 16, 14 or 12 points for CLB/NCLC 8 or higher, 7, 6, 5 or 4. Second official language at CLB/NCLC 5 or higher: 5 points. |
| Age | 10 | 10 points from 21 to 45, fewer points at 18 to 20 and at 46 to 49, none at 50 or older. |
| Work experience | 15 | 8, 10, 12 or 15 points for 1, 2, 3 or 4 years or more. |
| Education | 25 | From 25 points for a master's degree or doctorate down to 14 for a one-year program or trade certificate. |
| Adaptability | 25 | One Manitoba connection (10 to 20 points), plus 5 supplemental points for a regional settlement plan outside Winnipeg. |
For the first official language, the calculator asks for the lowest of your four results, which is the cautious way to estimate. Test results must be from within two years of the application date, and age is counted on the date the full application is received. Work experience should match the duties of the occupation you are assessed in; check the MPNP's definition of qualifying experience.
The Manitoba connection rule
The 60 points are not enough on their own. The MPNP requires an established connection to Manitoba, and you can receive adaptability points for only one type of connection even if several apply. The regional points are supplemental and cannot replace the connection.
- Manitoba Support. A close relative (sibling, niece or nephew, aunt or uncle, first cousin, parent or grandparent) or a friend or distant relative who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and has lived in Manitoba for at least one year.
- Manitoba Experience. At least six consecutive months of full-time work for a Manitoba employer as a temporary foreign worker, or an eligible program completed as an international student at a Manitoba public or registered private vocational institution. Language studies do not count.
- Manitoba Invitation. An Invitation to Apply from the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, issued after an interview during a recruitment mission or exploratory visit. You cannot self-select this connection.
What this estimate does not tell you
Points depend on evidence: language test results, credential assessments, reference letters that match your duties, and proof of the connection. If you are unsure which education or connection option applies, confirm it with the MPNP's published definitions or a regulated professional before you rely on the result.
